DESCRIPTION:
Atkins Clock Co., Octagon Drop, XX Regulator with type III (fancy frame) Wagon Spring movement, 30-day, in a rosewood veneered case with ripple molding around the top, C.1859. Movement designed by Joseph Ives.
CONDITION:
although there is no label, the clock is otherwise in excellent original condition, with good dial [some flaking around outer reflector], good hands, sound rosewood case and movement intact. Bone or ivory knobs intact on bezel latch and lower door. This is an uncommon clock; see "The Clocks of Irenus Atkins" by Phil Gregory, page 66.
